Captain America movie gets a director!

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Marvel Studios have decided to go with Joe Johnston as the director for the Captain America film. Johnston was the director for films such as “The Rocketeer”, “October Sky”, and “Jurassic Park III”. According to imdb.com he is in post-production for a remake of the “Wolf Man” staring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. “First Avenger: Captain America” is scheduled for a May 6, 2011 release.
Read More I’m not thrilled with this choice, but I wasn’t thrilled when Jon Favreau was named director for Iron Man - and we all know how well that worked out. On the flip side, I was thrilled when Bryan Singer was named the director of “Superman Returns” and look what happened there. You never know. I wish Marvel was calling the film simply Captain America instead of “First Avenger: Captain America”. I’m sure it’s just a way to tie it in to The Avengers film. Or maybe they don’t want to connect it to that abomination of a film that came out in 1990. I guess that’s just me being nitpicky. Now lets see who they pick to play Cap.
